The mangrove's visit on foot
Strolling along a creek by the mangroves until you reach one offshoot of the sambirano river. The walk takes place on low-tide for a couple of hours. The mangrove is a natural sanctuary for birds and crustacean of all sorts, quite an original habitat.

The mangrove on a traditional local pirogue
Discover the mangrove’s ecosystem in the delta of the Ambazoana. Departure from the hotel on a local boat, manned by a local fisherman (on high tide only). Observation of the fauna and flora in this very protected and fragile setting. |
Snorkelling discovery
Gentle snorkelling along the deepening waters in front of the hotel (free equipment lent) to find out about the immediate underwater habitat, coral, sponges, sea turtles, shells and fishes of all sorts. |

Visiting the plantations
On foot or cycle (required reservation) visit of the cocoa, vanilla, coffee and ylang-ylang plantations. Ideal opportunity to discover the extensive exotic flora and understand the main economic activity of north Madagascar. The local farming community is quite open to show you around.

Discover the forest
Not far from the hotel, promenade within the forest on the lookout for wild lemuriens. The outing will start around 4:15 pm up until nightfall, the lemuriens feed on wild tree fruits. It is quite common to see them having nocturnal activity.
